Matthew Speaks!

So Matthew has finally started to communicate. He has been saying Momma and DaDa for a while (when he sees us), and recently started repeating the kids names when we call them. But on Monday he had had enough. Kirsti took his toy and he came up to me (crying) and said as clear as day, "Momma, KIRSTI!" Of course he picked the hardest of all the kids names. And I don't know if it is a bad sign if he starts his talking career by tattling, but he speaks! Yesterday (tuesday) he brought me a banana and asked, "Banana?" So I guess he is starting to get that talking is not too bad. (And of course I gave it to him even though I was going to make banana bread with it, but his second word- who could resist that?)

  1. That is really exciting. Any kind of communication is always nice. And Matthew has much to learn to say if he wants to not get trampled on at your house!

  3. That is really exciting. What is Matthew doing in that picture. It looks like fun (for him not you). You need to teach him to say Tami before he comes out. He, by the way, can give our baby as many kisses as he wants. He can give Maddie as many as he wants too (as long as you don't bring any sickness with you. If you do I'll have to kill you because Maddie has to be health all this month! He can give all the sickness he wants to the baby :)

  5. I love the wall paper in that picture, you will have to give me the name of your interior designer, wow you are so lucky to be married to a wealthy doctor and be able to live in such a nice house! (hope I didn't lay it on to thick for you!) Congrats on Matthew talking!

  6. What is Matthew doing in the picture. It looks like fun. We all knew he would be talking before long. No one can survive as the sixth child and not talk (especially to tattle). Look forward to seeing you and the kids and Peter too.

  7. I just threw in that photo for comic relief. That was the day he decided to cook. He dumped a whole thing of oats on the table and was trying to get them into the measuring cup. It has nothing to do with the talking, just the personality of the talker!
