Pictures of the House Part 1

I decided to post pictures of the house before I posted about my adventures with the car. This may be due to implicit threats from family members.

Just remember, I have not had time to decorate. Mostly I've thrown things in roughly the right place, hoping they'd stick eventually. Also, I have not hung any pictures yet. Oh, and I have a room still waiting for the 12 foot couch we've ordered and the flat screen TV we have not.

And I know the table doesn't match. It will after I paint it black. And get new kitchen chairs since mine didn't make it onto the moving truck.

Also, I didn't mop my floors.

And there is a reason you are only seeing the downstairs. It will take a few more days to do upstairs.

So, now that my warnings are made...

Now I'm standing in the kitchen. See the spots for the missing couch and TV?

Pantry.  It will be beautiful, once it is organized properly.

Just in case you think I didn't have a lot left to do...

  1. Beautiful! That is so nice that you got to choose the colors to have the builder paint. We've been left with the flat contractor's paint that is so much *fun* to clean, or at least attempt to clean w/o wiping off the paint!
Your house looks great! Envious of the giant food pantry! :)
Congrats on finally being into your house.

  2. Oh. My!!! It's GORGEOUS! I LOVE the big open kitchen and living room! And all that beautiful dark wood and wood floors and everything! I love it!

Can I come live with you?

  3. Swelling, my heart is actually swelling and might burst out of my chest. So so so gorgeous and beautiful and amazing. No wonder you wanted to move! Tell me what it's like to be in a beautiful house that is yours (and not having owners to deal with.) Because we may never know. That pantry alone is enough to make me want to hitchhike all the way there and move right in, I'll sleep in the lovely bathtub. I promise to be good.

  6. It looks so much different than when we saw it. Love the look of the wood floors, love the countertops, Peter did good on picking (didn't have doubt he would). Can't wait to see it in person. Love the house but love the occupants more.

  7. So jealous of all that beautimousness! I would die for a kitchen that big! Love those dark wood floors.

If we ever built a house, it would have a huge pantry like that right in the kitchen where I can put my food storage and everything - very convenient!

Good luck with getting everything organized!

  11. LOVE the kitchen! Especially since our new one will have an island/snack bar just like that. I also like the touch of frosted glass on the pantry door. Lovely, lovely!

  12. I.Am.In.Awe.

    Seriously.

You have deliciously good taste in furniture and in home decor. Love the artistic touches...the stone of the fireplace, the gorgeous wood doors. And that kitchen island. Wowza.

I will totally organize everything that remains to be organized if you'll let me come live with you for awhile.

    Sigh.

  22. Charlotte!! Congratulations on making this far. What a complete adventure. I've been following along through tweets and Facebook. (Or maybe just Facebook? I mix the two up), and I'm delighted to see you have "landed" and into what looks like such a cozy home. I can't wait to hear/see more.

  25. Wow! Peter did a great job picking those finishing touches. So glad you snapped some pictures before small children have drawn on the walls with Sharpies and such! I really enjoyed the pics of the mud room and craft room, because it reminded me that a real family lives there. Looks like a great place for all of you to call home. So great that you can ignore the end of my comment on your previous post (about ever thinking of moving to Utah). You'll never want to leave that home I'm sure. I hope it is a gathering place for the next two generations of your good family.
