A couple weeks ago we decided to get lost. And we decided to take some friends with us. After years of remembering I wanted to go to a corn maze only after they had all closed for the season, I actually dragged the family out at the beginning of corn maze season.
We learned a lot. Important things like no matter how fast you're going, if the other group has a navy sub navigator with them, they will beat you out of the maze. Also, giving 11 year old boys control over navigation will lead to dead ends not shown on the map (Peter learned this, not me). Also, a large black pipe is all children really need to be happy. And I will forget to get any photos in the maze, only playing outside it.
Lastly, it looks like fall is arriving in New England. Be still my heart.
Hoo-ray for remembering on time! Corn mazes are great sources of entertainment for any age.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the advice recently, it helped me with my decision.
I am so with you on this one. I don't forget to go every year though, I just put it off and put it off until they are closed. We should go early this year too. Loved the pictures.
ReplyDeleteThat picture with the red tree is beautiful! I'm surprised--I mean a"maze"d--that the corn is still green. Ours is already brown.
ReplyDeleteI took my kids to a corn maze for the last two years, and now they think it's tradition. For me, it's something I'd rather do every several years because the novelty otherwise wears thin.
The scenary is amazing. I am truly afraid of corn mazes. You are brave. I would fear losing a kid. I only have 2 so it would be noticeable. LOL
ReplyDeleteI remember going to a corn maze near Provo and getting lost. I finally got out about 1am, and vowed never to go back.
ReplyDeleteSo fun. I went all the time in PA, but haven't been since we moved here! Probably wait now until I don't have to lug an infant strapped to my chest!!
ReplyDeleteAmbrosia- Glad I could help! I've always liked corn mazes.
ReplyDeleteDavis Family- My friend mentioned she went to the opening weekend and I made sure to go the next week so I wouldn't forget (or procrastinate)
Mary- Once a year won't wear off the novelty (I hope because I'd like to make it a tradition).
Steph- I was surprised how sound proof the corn was. Since I ended up without any of the kids in the first maze, I was a little worried and hoped the other adults didn't lose mine!
ReplyDeleteEast of Eden Really? That would be terrible! We had maps and tall bridges to keep us on track.
Kim- I think the fun might be lost on your two littlest ones (although it the adults had a lot of fun, too. Good group thing to do).
It is sad, but true, I have never been to a corn maze. I probably never will go unless my husband or kids bribe me to do it.
ReplyDeleteI love the leaves on the East coast...I wish I could spend a weekend there just lounging under the trees. Maybe I'll take up painting in my old age! Looks like you guys had fun!
ReplyDeleteI always INTEND to take the kids to a corn maze. Still waiting...
ReplyDeleteGlad you all had a great time.
Wow I love that last picture! Are you in any of these pictures???
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun!
Mom at Our House- You should try it. It is fun (unless you get lost, I guess).
ReplyDeleteShalise- It is beautiful. A lot of the trees are changed over now.
Cynthia- For the last several years we have been stuck at intention, too. Glad we finally did it.
Boyer Family- I am in the grid- top right.
How fun! I miss fall time so enjoy it for me. It looks beautiful. I'm glad you made it to one.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I have never done a corn maze. That's on my list of things to do.
ReplyDeleteI love corn mazes. Except when I take a boyscout troop full of 7 year olds in the dark. Then it's not as much fun.
