Very cool!
We had a great (and busy) week.
Monday we went to a friend's house in the morning. That was also the day that Matthew got his cast. As a follow up, here is what he was doing while I posted about his arm:
We also worked on our school. Here are our cave drawings: (they actually included things they learned about nomads and early farmers, like their irrigation systems and living in tents)
Tuesday was regular shopping day for me. Peter went with so he could stock up on his South Beach diet food. He has already started loosing weight! We also had a hotdog picnic at church for the end of cub scouts until next fall.
Wednesday we had a playgroup at our house (actually our beach) all day. Ryan was proud of the large, alive crab he found:
Thursday was pretty laid back. We played outside some more and worked on jobs. We did go out to eat for dinner.
I seem to remember a whole post about Friday, but here are some more pictures:
Saturday was spent resting after such a week, changing around my blog and cleaning up the house for Sunday. Poor Peter worked a 17 hour shift because they couldn't fill that day and he had to take up the slack.
Sunday we went to church (with a very tired mom and dad). Afterwards we played Settler's of Catan. The game is getting really long now that the kids are getting as many points as the grownups (by the way I won, Peter won last week, but Elise was a really close 2nd both times). Since the game lasted from 5:30 to 9:30, we sent the kids directly to bed and then played wii mariocart with my sister and brother-in-law in Washington. Turns out we are more competitive when we use the remote and nunchucks instead of the wii wheel!
And here we are at Monday again. With another very busy week to follow (I'll keep you posted!)
Sounds like a great week....what is on the agenda for this week?
ReplyDeleteI think I am going to paint my kids bedrooms! Wish me luck!
Wow such a busy fun week. You are such a good mom to do such fun things with your kids. You are doing a fantistic job.
ReplyDeleteThose cave drawings are great! How do you have energy to schedule in school lessons during the summer? It takes all mine just to work in a piano lesson for the oldest three and a trip to the library just once per week!
ReplyDeleteI've always thought it was strange that some dens/packs take off the summer and/or December. Some of the best activities we do with our Bear Den have to be done while the weather is warm and the days are long.
Finally, it must be great to have a beach in your backyard: no wading pools to inflate, plus a giant sandbox, and interesting things washing up every day. That will create some great memories for your kiddies.
Your weeks always amaze me! You get so much done. Congrats to Peter...next thing you know you'll have paparazzi hanging around your beach.
ReplyDeleteThe picture of Ryan with the crab looked awesome. Sounds like a fun and busy week. I have no clue how you get so much done. I struggle to get dressed these days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sending us a link to your blog. It is so nice to be able to keep up with your family this way. They are growing like weeds.
